Palm Sunday Crosses

If you attend church on Palm Sunday, odds are that you'll receive a palm branch of some sort -- handing out palms has become extremely common in most Protestant congregations.  After church, you may be tempted to throw this palm branch away, but you can actually use it as a craft!  As long as you have a decent-sized branch, you can fold the branch into a cross as a reminder of how the cheers from the crowds on Palm Sunday quickly turned into the cross of Good Friday.  These palm crosses are a reminder of the tension that exists throughout Holy Week - joy and sorrow, grief and hope.

To learn how to make these crosses you can either:
  • View paper instructions - https://gfscalifornia.org/folding-palm-crosses/
  • Watch a tutorial video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrEorJngmrM
