Graduation
Although it may seem silly on some level to celebrate graduating from a nursery to preschool, or preschool to Kindergarten, these are obviously a really big deal for your little one! These celebrations aren't about achievement in the way that high school and college graduations are, though - they are a celebration of time and growth.
Opening Prayer
Holy God, we are so proud of _____________ as he/she moves up to a new school. It has been so special to watch him/her grow over the past year - not just in what they've learned in their rooms, but in watching the person that they are growing into. They are so special and it is a joy to see them further becoming the person that they'll be. Amen.
Scripture Passage
For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Closing Prayer
God of all our days, graduations are times that hold a mix of emotions: we're happy at all that we've learned, but sometimes we also miss what we're used to. Sometimes we are both nervous and excited all at once about what might be next. So we pray that you and your spirit would be with us in this new adventure. Help us to keep old friends and make new ones. Help us to keep learning from our teachers, and being willing to ask questions when there are things we don't know. We know that you are helping us grow each and every day - so thank you for your constant love. Amen.
