Good Friday Seeds
One of the oldest symbols for Jesus dying and rising were plants and flowers. Even though it may not seem like any life is there while you’re getting the seeds ready, in a few days you will start to see green poking out of the ground as new life begins, just like it did on Easter morning!
For this craft project you'll need:
When you're ready to plant, take your cup or pot and carefully sprinkle some grass seeds about a half-inch under the soil with your child. You can explain a bit about how grass needs sunlight and water to grow and how it will take patience before they can see anything, just like they need patience in waiting for their Easter celebration. After you have patted the soil down, help them sprinkle just a little water onto the top so that it will be able to grow.
For this craft project you'll need:
- A medium-sized pot, whether terra cotta or another good planting pot
- A dirt/fertilizer combo
- Your seed of choice; I like to use grass because it grows consistently, but use whatever!
