Devotion:  It is really fun to get gifts – my guess is that all of us, even the adults, woke up this morning really wanting to open a certain gift or two under the Christmas tree.  But as we read this story of the Wise Men bringing gifts to the baby Jesus, we were reminded that giving gifts can be just as special as getting them… and maybe even more so!

Think about someone else’s face – your mom or dad or sister or brother – as they opened a gift that you gave them.  Think about their smile, or how happy they looked, and think about how you felt being able to share that with them.  We think that is how God felt when Jesus was born – the greatest gift that God has ever given to us – and we hope to show that same type of love and care to others.

Merry Christmas to you and your family, and may God’s love be with you this day!

Question:  What are some gifts that you can share with people who aren’t in your family?  How might those gifts help them?

Prayer: Dear God, on this special morning when we remember Jesus being born, we pray that all people might know your love through what we say, do, and share.  Amen
