Bible - Micah 5:2-5a
Spark Bible - pages 194 to 195
Devotion: Can you think of a time when you were scared or felt hopeless? Perhaps there was a time in a sports game when you were losing by a lot and lost hope, or when you were scared of entering a new school or worried for a big test. Or maybe you lost hope when the Indians came back against the Cubs in game 7 of the World Series. That was how the people of Bethlehem felt. Then the Prophet Micah came and told them the miraculous good news. There was going to be a Savior to take care of all them and lead them safely and peacefully - saving them from all they were going through. Micah brought hope to all the people in Bethlehem. Micah tells us to never lose hope and not to be scared because Jesus our Savior is guiding and helping us through the path of life from Heaven.
Question: How do you think Micah’s good news will help you next time when you are feeling scared or hopeless?
Prayer: Dear God, please help us through our tough times and help us to never lose hope. Amen.
