Day 6 - Tuesday
Bible Verses: Matthew 7:24-29
Spark Bible: House on the Rock (p.282)
Devotion: Recently, we went to the beach for our family vacation. Our daughter built some sandcastles early in the day. As the day passed, each one began to crumble as tide came in and as other kids played in the sand. In this passage, Jesus talks about choosing a strong foundation for our lives – not a sandy one that will crumble when life’s conditions are challenging.
Our family spent some time thinking about what foundations we have in our lives. Our kids named a few: grandparents, aunts, uncles & cousins, our church, favorite friends, our home and family traditions.
Reflection: Which foundations will help you feel safe when the storms of life come through? Which ones are the most important and most long-lasting?
Prayer: God, thank you for the important foundations that we have in our lives. Help us know which ones are built on rock and will support us as we grow. Amen.
