Day 29 - Monday
Bible Verses: Luke 15:11-32
Spark Bible: The Prodigal Son (p.378)
Devotion: This passage talks about a father’s unwavering love for his sons, even when one abandoned him and the other acted in a way that made him sad. God is like the father is this passage because God loves us unconditionally, even if we make mistakes. God will always welcome us back when we ask for forgiveness.
We talked about times when we had acted like the prodigal son. How sometimes it is scary to think that you have disappointed God. We talked about how grateful we were that we could come back to God when we realized our error and God would be there for us and would be quick to forgive us.
Reflection: Can you remember a time you have acted like the prodigal son or his brother? Isn’t it amazing to think that you always have God’s love, if you just ask for it? Are there any ways that you could model God’s unconditional and forgiving love in your life?
Prayer: God, please help us remember that, if we look for it, your love is always there, even if we mess up. Amen.
