Day 28 - Saturday
Bible Verses: Luke 15:11-32
Spark Bible: The Prodigal Son (p.378)
Devotion: Can you think of a time when you did something your parents asked you not to do and you got hurt or something got broken? Were you afraid that your parents would be mad?
Once when our daughter was a baby, she tried to help us by closing a laptop computer. The problem was, the mouse was sitting on the keyboard, so when she closed it, the screen cracked. She didn’t know any better, so we couldn’t really be mad at her. All we could do was pick her up and give her a hug.
We talked about how the father in the story was so happy when his son returned! No matter what he had done or how long he was gone, the father loved him and forgave him. We talked about how God loves us that way and asks us to treat others the same way.
Reflection: God always loves us no matter we do, and we should remember to love others too.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for loving us no matter what happens. Amen.
