Crafts and Activities for Easter
For Younger Children:
For Older Children
- Decorating Easter Eggs
- Although the connection is somewhat tenuous, many Christians have compared Jesus coming out of the tomb with a chick coming out of an egg. Ultimately, though, it's just fun to decorate eggs!
- You'll need eggs and either dye or markers, although there are more elaborate versions too.
- There's no shortage of egg decorating ideas in the world, but here's an option: https://www.eggs.ca/eggs101/view/70/how-to-decorate-an-easter-egg
- Easter Coloring Sheets
For Older Children
- Creating a "Stained Glass" Cross
- This craft is far easier if you have contact paper, which you'll probably have to order ahead of time, but the end result is actually quite stunning.
- You'll need contact paper, construction paper, tissue paper, and scissors.
- Cut a large hollowed out cross shape from a piece of construction paper. Open up a sheet of contact paper, sticky side up, and press the cross shape onto it.
- Tear pieces of tissue paper off and press them down flat onto the contact paper. Try to do squares for the full stained glass effect!

- Jesus is Risen Rolling Tomb
- We do this craft every year in our Easter morning classes, even if it's a tad tricky for our younger kids! You'll be recreating the empty tomb, using a brad/fastener for a moveable stone!
- Consult this picture for a sense of what you'll need to do: https://i0.wp.com/happyhomefairy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/img_75291.jpg?ssl=1
- You'll need at least three colors of construction paper, scissors, a marker, and a brad/fastener
